also, note that simvastain (was made by Merck before it went generic) is now in Phase I studies to increase NO in CF patients. Don't think Merck is funding it.... I think it's the CFF.

I'd be curious how the NIH decides what to study. They claim to specialize in doing research (maybe not necessarily clinical trials though) in orphan/ underfunded disease states.

Another option could be to lobby Israel, Germany or maybe even Great Britain to do the study.

I know Germany is doing the Phase I inhaled GSH study. Not sure if it's a gov't thing, Foundation thing, or private company thing.

If memory serves, PCT124 was originated in Israel (although not sure if it's the Israeli gov't or a private company or a hybrid).
