pneumonia

I get short of breath, cough up more bad green stuff (and brighter green), have a harder time coughing anything up, and the wet dish rag analogy is a really good one- just blah, dragging through the day. I also may wake up coughing in the middle of the night when I have pnemonia.

All these things start to subside as the antibiotics start to work, and I have more energy. I can be on antibiotics for anywhere from 10 days to 21 days, depending on how well they work and how sick I am when I start. Usually, after about the first week, though, if I am on the right antibiotics, I am a lot better.

I stay at home, though, so I can't answer your "off work" question, but I know that there are a few who take their antibiotics to work (I couldn't do that- I have to rest- they take too much out of me). I do have someone come during the day to watch my daughter while I do my antibiotics so I can concentrate on just doing them. They also take her home (especially in the beginning) so I can nap during the day, and my husband becomes "Mr. Mom" in the evenings so I can go to be early after my meds and not have to worry about anything else.

I hope that helps at least a little, and I hope you are feeling better really soon!

Thanks...

I've been talking to my primary dr and she thinks that the amount of antibiotics I'm on may have something to do with the continued upset tummy...pizza seems to settle it. (I'm a little confused by that one!!)

I was supposed to be going to the pony swim in VA, but instead my hubby and daughter have gone with out me. I figured it would be nice for them to go together and I could just rest here...

Anyway, I appreciate the answers and the reassurance that I am not alone!!
