Poll - sleep position vs. worse side...is there a connection??

I was talking to a friend yesterday & we both realized that the side we sleep on is considered our "worse" side. I have always been told that my right side was worse than my left side, even though x-rays show that the damage is pretty equal. When ever I have bleeds - it is on the right. My collapsed lung was on the right. Whenever I have an infection my right side has more wheezing and crackles. I was always told it was because I sleep on that side. So I was curious if the position that you sleep in correlates with your worse side.

Thanks for taking the poll. I am interested in how they compare.

My right side always has more crackling and diminished lung sounds and was the collapsed side, but my left side always is the source of my bleeds.

If I change sides while sleeping I go into a coughing fit so I stick with the right side all night.

I sleep on my left which is my good side, my right is collapased for yrs now. But I start coughing as soon as I put my o2 on then it subsides usually within abt 20-30mins. I am very sleep deprived, not only from the coughing just can't fall asleep. Have been this way for yrs. seen alot of sunrises and its very fustrating tried natural stuff, Ambien, music, reading my mind does not shut down. It's very bad and fustrating. Pat 56/CF

Hmm, my right side has more crackles or so they say, and more damage it looks like on the xrays.

I used to sleep a lot on my left side though, but then I got the g-tube and the only comfortable position was right side.

Then i had a pneumo on my left side and when I would lay on it would bubble up gas and stuff, so i had to lay on my right side anyways.

I feel like lately I breathe easier if on my right side.

My left side is my worst side but I almost always fall asleep on my right side. I fall asleep on my right side but sleep in just about every position throughout the night. My wife says I wander in my sleep oftentimes ending up on her pillow..hehe..So even though I fall asleep on my right side, I must be all over the bed during the night.

I don't have a worse side as far as I know, and I fall asleep quickest on my stomach (I've never been able to fall asleep on my back, or at least very rarely).
