Polyps...is everyone

I have had surgery to remove my polyps many times, most recently two weeks ago.

Why doesn't your doc want you to have the surgery??

In addition to your breathing and general comfort, your polyps may be blocking some pretty nasty stuff up in your sinuses, harboring infection which can impact your lung health. Getting it cleared out can only help you...

Is he trying to treat them any other way? (nasal steriods, etc.) Mine apparently is very conservative when it comes to surgery, too. An "Everything else first" kind of ENT.

I had mine removed, and it did wonders for my breathing (although I have a bad sense of smell, but that's the least of my problems).

Having CF, your breathing is already compromised, so I would think that any doctor would be all for the removal of polyps if it's affecting breathing thru your nose. Like some of the others, I'm wondering why he's opposed to surgery for you. If you want to have it done, I'd say go for it, get another opinion. Good luck!

That's what I figured...I would breath better without them.

We have tried Flonase and all those nasal sprays and nothing works...they only give me a sore throat and funny taste in my mouth. It has been YEARS we have been doing this.

I will mention it to him at my next visit that I want them out...hopefully he is all for it and I don't have to get a second opinion!!!!
