Technically, Terri, we're connecting balls versus hanging IVs. Our home healthcare agency is terrific and provides all pediatric IV meds that are possible to put into those medication balls into them so children are not tethered to machines and cords. Its great. We love them. We just have to battle the child's desire to lay on that arm in the middle of the night. We use a Baby Leg to go over the PICC line *and* the medication ball and he's good to go without being much the wiser that we were anywhere near him.
Its also great when you want to do things like go cut down a Christmas tree...or visit your doctor. The only issue I had in the doctor's office yesterday was that our family doctor nearly fell over when he walked into the exam room while I was flushing the PICC line. I TOLD him we were doing the IV meds ourself, so I don't know why he was so surprised, but he was just the same.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
