Mr Klingon was caught sliding across the kitchen AGAIN...the very same stunt that got him busted into the doorframe in the first place. I asked him to PLEASE refraim from such stupidity at least until Dad gets home.
Tom's packed. M's eating fine. Got so smart-alecky, he decided he would eat a pop-tart even after Dad told him it would hurt.
Evidentally, the hospital is under orders that they may NOT discharge M until his CF doctor comes to see him. They are already working to get Home Health Care set up for the IV antibiotics. I checked with Tom, and he snagged hardware for the PICC line. I've got dressing changes here at the house, just not PICC hardware since a Port doesn't require it.
Right now, they are saying they want 14 days of the IV antibiotics. But, we're thinking that may change when the Synergy comes back...which has to be discussed with the CF doctor not all the residents and on call staff at the hospital.
They can do antibiotics at home, and we can reduce the risk of nosicomal infections as well as the pitfalls of having the child cooped up in a hospital bed where he's missing the chance to be a BOY, missing therapy and missing his whole family. So, unless CF doctor has a good medical justification for holding him, I have high hopes we'll see them home dinner time or at least bedtime.
