Oh, and I forgot to add that when the ENT discovered nobody has EVER looked at his sinuses, he decided he would take a look up there as well.

We've just passed 3 hours in surgery. At the one hour mark, the circulating nurse called to tell Tom he was doing fine. At the 2 hour mark, the ENT came to tell Tom that he got a good luck, sinuses and tonsils are fine. But, M's bleeding too much for him to take the aednoids. He's going to try several months of inhaled steriods first and then repeat the sleep study.

The dentist said he would take 1.5-2 hours. The ENT was supposed to take an hour. The dentist did pause to let the ENT get his good look. But, we have not heard anything for the last hour.

We don't know what is going on, and the last we heard was that M was having bleeding issues.

So, we continue to wait. I've cancelled Scouts and soccer practice because I refuse to be away from the telephone. Tom's in the OR waiting room now waiting and trying to stay calm. He's not doing a good job of that. I was going to run and get some groceries as soon as my cellphone recharged. I'm afraid of leaving the house phone, since Tom keeps calling on it and might forget to call the other phone in an emergency. So, I sit here and wait.

I finally let the other kids turn on the Wii so they would be distracted. They, blissfully, have NO idea how serious this is and how much it may take to keep their brother safe right now.

Ok, we are back in the room.

3:45 of oral surgery but he is doing ok.

Bleed excessively, but they were able to get it under control w/o any additional transfusions (he got platelets & plasma this AM). Dentist said post-op blood levels were where we started the morning before the transfusions so we didn't loose any ground.

He is drugged up and in pain, but alive and kicking.

Toothfairy Count:
8 Extractions
8 Crowns
1 Root Canal

All in the mouth of a 6yr old!
