I think we're going to pull it off. The other boys helped me do as much prep as we could tonight for the meal. Oldest ds and I will be getting up and getting that bird stuffed and in the oven first thing tomorrow. Each child then has a dish they are responsible for, aiming to have everything ready between 1 and 2 so we can get to the hospital between 2 and 3.
And, the boys and I were talking, and they want it all to FEEL like Thanksgiving for their sisters and for M. So, they are going to try to dig out our lace tablecloth and a china plate for each family member. I found a centerpiece. It won't be quite the same as usual. But, we all agree at least it will be a Thanksgiving to remember. And, dd#1 has been weeping off and on at the thought that we can't use real china and can't have our meal at HOME tomorrow.
Plan is, we're going to hide the china, centerpiece and tablecloth. We're taking our wagon and staking out a corner of the hospital cafeteria for our meal. Its not quite what we thought M's first Thanksgiving home would be. But, at least we'll be together as a family. And, amazingly, when the boys got that I really cannot do this without help, they got their acts together and decided to pitch in and be a part of this family for me.
We had great fun prepping and laughing at the dining room table tonight (I can't stand for long periods of time due to being nearly 9 months pregnant). And, I feel far more confident and less stressed now.
