If you are healthy enough, I would say go for it once you have done your research.

My only input would be to please get your bf tested. There is no way to assume his status, most CF carriers never show any signs. If he were a carrier the risk of you having a child with CF is 50%, if not the risk is 0%.

I agree with EVERYTHING that LouLou said .. my pft's actually IMPROVED while pregnant! They were 70% pre-pregnancy, then at 8 months pregnant they were 83%! I did get sick and need IV's 3 times while pregnant... it was quite a rollercoaster ride, my pregnancy.. bed rest, getting sick, lots of meds you can't take while pregnant... but now my daughter is almost 4 months old, and taking care of her is what's really taking it's toll on me. It's A LOTTTTTTTT of work (I even have the help of my parents and my hubby - he works and i am a stay at home Mom). It is really SO hard, all the sleepless nights in the beginning, taking care of a baby EVERY minute of the day and then taking care of YOURSELF, which trust me, is also the most important thing because I am sick now (despite doing all my meds religiously) and it is the most difficult thing in the world trying to take care of my baby, entertain her and everything else combined while being sick.

I am going on IV antibiotics tomorrow, and then having sinus surgery on October 14th because my sinuses are all messed up again (I've had 3 prior sinus surgeries). Also, my pft's are now back down to 70% and I have been coughing up blood the past few nights so it is time for IV. I am so worried about having my PICC placed which i know hurts like hell for a couple of days and having to care for my 4 month old..... but hey, I was given this life because I am strong enough to live it! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I absolutely LOVE being a mother, there is no greater feeling in the world then when your baby looks at you with that look of love and just smiles and melts in your arms. But, it is definitely a lot of work & very stressful at times. And with having CF, I think it's better sooner than later to get pregnant...

It is really important to get your bf screened, but keep in mind there is still a chance of the baby have CF is the screening is negative. My carrier test came back negative and my husband's doctor told me that they screen for the most common mutations, but there are thousands to look for. Just know that there is a chance. To which I of course told the doctor that there are a lot of chances in becoming pregnant and then raising a child.
