I took oral antibiotics twice while pg with my second daughter. They did the trick and knocked out the increased cough.
We never did IV's because my PFT drops seemed to come when big changes happened with my belly and I was still feeling healthy.

Anne,
What oral antibiotics did you take? My doc won't give me oral antibiotics because apparently everything that my bacteria is sensitive to is bad for the baby. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

just to be clear I think the majority of us that have been a part of this site in the last 3 or so years doctors feel Tobra is contraindicated for pregnancy. Although Candice's doctor rx'ed her Tobra multiple times this is highly unusual. In fact, I can't think of any other mother on this site since I joined that took Tobra IV during pregnancy.

I didn't mean to call you out Candice but I feel your posts lack info for anyone to really know if Tobra is something they should consider.

For the record Cipro is a Cat. C while Tobra is a Cat. D. When you say Cipro is a big pregnancy no-no. Please explain why you think it would be better for a pregnant woman to take Tobra over Cipro? I reckon that your doctor knows more info about your situation than us and for some reason the benefits outweighed the risk with Tobra because Cipro is not an option for you for some reason. You very well might have PA that is resistant to Cipro. Personally I would ask him although I guess you just moved to a new doc.

Anyway, just had to chime in there...
