Pulmozyme after Transplant

I do use pulmozyme, post transplant. I have alot of secreations from nasal drainage. I only do it once per day though along with xopenex 3 times a day.

Hey guys, thank you for your input, i did do some nebs post transplant including Pulmozyme for about 2 - 3 months but after that I haven't needed to do any kind of nebs (knock on wood). Even though UCSF pushes for pulmozyme, I think maybe for keeping the original areas clean but since my CF doctor doesn't like it, i never restarted on Pulmozyme after I stopped. I do have nasal issues which were cleaned post transplant and I flush my nasals twice a day.

May i ask what you use for your nasal washes? and did they do anything else such as surgery or something?

My TX doctor had my nasal cleaned thru surgery so any kind of infection would not drip down into the new lungs. I did that about 3 months after TX. I flush my nose twice a day for maintenance with 1 package of Sinus Rinse (non-prescription) and 0.5mg of Pulmicort Respules (prescription needed). Sometimes I also use a 1/2 a cap of Baby Shampoo if my nose feels dry. I get the drip in the back of my throat occasionally and I've had nose pollops removed twice before. I remember my brother who past away from CF back in 1997 when he was 20 always having to sniff his nose due to constant nose dripping coming out of his nose. I hope this helps.

P.S. I thought the nasal surgery was worse the my TX??????
