only section they did up, they left the rest of the hospital to
rot. i guess they did that just to make a good impression for the
people who go no further than the foyer rofl! oh yeah i wish i
could go to st john of god instead haha. i have private health
insurance and i hardly ever get to use it because there are no
private cf services. apparently you get wine with dinner at the
private hospitals lol.</end quote>

I've mostly been down there yes, but have been up to some of the
wards as well. It's not the best looking place in the world, but no
too shabby. It's sad that the public hospitals are generally so
crappy. I guess the Freo one is public, cause it's awful. Also
Royal Perth is generally quite crummy. I suppose it's much the same
as with the school system, where private actually gets more money
than public, even if private already gets paid quite substantial
sums from their "customers". For someone from a social
democracy it's quite scary to see.
I've been to Saint Johns the most in my work, most of the florists
were Subi based ones, like Vegetal and Cottage Garden (if you know
those, if not Vegetal has some of the nicest flowers in the city
). Saint Johns is really great looking, and
even better after they did a fixer up'er. As an atheist all the
christian stuff "frightens" me though
hehe. Change the wine to a Carlton Draught or
Tooheys New and I'm game.
The norwegian government has a deal with Mayne Health here in
Australia, so I'm supposed to use Mounts Bay if I get sick, it's a
pretty flash place. Luckily I haven't had the need to go to the
hospital since I got here, but if I had to, that seems like a
pretty good place to go
