Our nurse just came out today and his weight was 18 pounds 5 1/4 ounces.
Right before he turned one he got a bout of diarreah, dropped a pound and it took him almost a month to gain it back!
For his corrected age (he was born five weeks early) he is in the 20% but for his actual age he is below the growth chart.
I'm not worried. I think he looks great.
His growth is very slow, but steady.
I was happy to read that your daugher is in the 25%.
Weight has been my sons biggest problem.
We have had vertually no lung issues other then a partial collaps of his right lung after the first surgery.

How long did it take to realize there was something wrong with your daughter?
The nurse noticed right away that Jack's stomach was brused looking and slightly distended. He was transfered to a pediatric hospital at 6 hours old and by 12 hours old undergoing exploritory surgery.

I'm not sure if I did this correctly but here is a picture of Jack

Hey Carey,
We knew before Lily was born that we were both carriers, but not before Liz got pregnent. We found out at 30 weeks. Her first OB didn't give us blood work result for Liz That were in at 5 weeks. It was a realy big mess and still is. They saw the blockage first at 22 weeks but wanted to further explore. Then we missed an oppointment because of a hurricane. Two weeks later they confirmed the blockage. At this time we didn't know Liz was a carrier because of the OB. The high risk OB demanded the results from her but she never sent them. So we went to her office and she said everything was good. Then she realized we were a different couple and still gave us good news. Liz had a feeling something was wrong and called the lab and they said the results for that were not on there. So then we had to go to the hospital to get them. She was a carrier. We went strait to her new OB and I got tested. 8 days later I was also a carrier. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> We refused to have her in our home town. It was a new hospital but they had no NICU. So we had all the oppointments in Orlando,Fl at there new chidrens hospital.

When Lily wasborn her belly was HUGE. You could see every vain. It was streching the skin from her neck. She was born at 3 pm. By 3 am she went in for her first op. They cut out the blockage and put her back together. That was about 5 hrs. 5 days later it didn't look any better. We said they have to do somathing. They went back in and gave her a jj-ostomy, or something like that. They acll them different name accordind to here in the intestines they are. You probably know that. She had that for 6 to 8 weeks and then they did it all over again. It worked but then her central line was leaking realy bad. so she had to under again.

Sorry for the long story. I probably left some stuff out, but it sounds like you went through the same thing.

btw Lily has that same shirt.

Shawn: i hope you dont mind me askign but when your wife had her testing at her 1st OB, was that a normal test they did on their patients? I had not heard about it before and was just curious....wonder if i should go back to my OB and find out if it was something they tested for.... I have 4 children and was never told of any of that kind of testing....
