Hey. I do not have CFRD and last I check, my labs were fine. However, I am prone to have hypoglycemia. It usually happens when I am stressed, sick, or not eating right. Usually when my sugar drops, I get naseas, flushed/hot, shaky, weak and sometimes sweat. It start feeling it when my sugar goes below 90. I will eat something and be okay. My CF dr does know about this and told me to just keep an eye on it. Now, the other night my sugar dropped, but I had things happened that never happened before. I had just eaten 2-3hrs before it happened. I started having nausea but didnt think much of it. About 10 mins later, I was setting up my IVs (yes, I'm still on them..4 wks total..but tonight is the last dose!) and I got really light headed. I was looking down at the recliner and it began to sway side to side. I stopped what I was doing and looked up, I had huge black spots in front of my eyes (like when a bright camera flash goes off too close to your face). I quickly grabbed my machine and something sweet and sat down so I wouldnt fall. I took my sugar and it said 92. I took it 2 minutes later and it was 75. It took a huge drop in a short time. Lucky my husband got home from work right when this was happening. He got me some juice. My sugar finally came back up, but I was so tired from it I had to take a nap. I have never had black spots and dizziness. DH is very concerned about how fast it dropped and the syptoms I had. He said if it happened again then we were calling my CF Dr. DH wanted me to ask you guys what you thought. Anyone have this happen? Could it be the start of CFRD? Thanks in advance.
