Hey Rockgirl!!!

Welcome to this site!

I can't offer too much help because I was never fully aware of my FEV #s until I joined this site, but I do know I have dropped since joining (NOTHING to do with this site I swear!). Exercise can get them back up, but I don't know if you will get them back to your 70s or not.

I majored in Interior Design and do architectural work! I love it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Sounds like you have a lot of studying on your plate but congrats on graduating this year <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

maybe you need to try some different antibiotics as those last lot clearly didn't work. Did your infection markers (CRP) come back down? About 5 years ago my lung function was 85% and in a bad winter when i didn't look after myself it dropped to 40%, after two sets of different iv's i got it back up to about 60%. A change in attitude to treatments etc over the last 2 years has seen a steady increase back up to 70%. However i feel it can't get any higher now because of the permanent damage done by dropping down to 40%. Hopefully another set of iv's will get your lung function back up a bit more

Hi rockgirl, and welcome to the site. My son has CF. His FEV1 has dropped some recently. I'm hoping it is the colder air, (he has an asthma component) and the many viruses that have been making their way around. If it's not back up next month when we go in, we will dig deeper.

Do you culture anything? I'm wondering if your "bugs" might have become resistant to the meds? I definitely think you should maybe go for another round of IV's. Also, exercise absolutely helps improve lung function.

It sounds like you are very motivated, and intelligent. Congrats on your up-coming graduation. I hope you will find this site as helpful and informative as I have. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hello and Welcome Rockgirl<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I also thought the name was in reference to music....lol
It isnt always easy to get your fev1 back to where it was once at, but it isnt impossible either, depending upon on why they are so much lower. Exercise is a great way to start in trying to get them back up.
