Danyell,
All I can say is OMG you are the only person I have ever heard of besides myself have that happen - ultrasound show nothing really out of the ordinary, and hyda scan not showing the gall bladder at all. I also had a CT Scan and everything looked fine on that. With the Hyda Scan they sent me for an ultrasound to find my gallbladder and marked me with a marker so they could focus on that area .. still they saw nothing. They told me mine was non-functioning as well. Turns out it was so full of gallstones (when they removed it in 2004) that the dyes weren't able to get into my gallbladder and highlight it.
The pain I had with the gallbladder attacks was horrendous. I felt sharp stabbing pains, I would feel like someone was squeezing me tight around my chest and I couldn't breathe. I would end up hunched over the toilet throwing up most times especially towards the end of the tests right before I had surgery. Everytime I had one I just knew I was going to die. I noticed I had worse attacks when I drank caffeinated beverages. I cut them out of my diet about a month before my surgery cause nothing else seemed to help (I cut down on fatty foods, gresy fods, spicy foods nothing stopped it until a stopped drinking soda and other caffeine products). Once I stopped drinking those I didn't have an attack the rest of the time til I had surgery. I have 3 little scars on my stomach and one in my bellybutton, but you can't really see it. I had surgery at the hospital and went home that afternoon. I had a hard time taking deep breathes for a day or so because of the pain for the incisions. Also had a hard time breathing cause they had me so doped up on pain meds riht after surgery. My mom had to sit with me and tell me to breathe because I was so relaxed that I just wasn't breathing - a little freaky that you can be THAT relaxed. I still get some phantom pains every now and then, but nothing like I used to get.
