While I appreciate concerns about this vaccine and would not want to put myself or other family members at unnecessary risk... I love how these articles buy into people's fears and sell with sensationalism.

Notice what is stated in the main body of the above-linked article:

<begin quote>In 1976, Washington rushed in a mass immunization program against a similar swine flu outbreak that was confined to a single military base.

Several hundred cases of a rare, lethal, paralyzing neurological disease called Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) were reported afterwards, and although no clear link was ever found to the vaccine, the incident made many mistrustful of immunizations.

Although the H1N1 vaccine now close to completion is different from the one used in 1976, the HPA said the earlier incident nevertheless highlighted a possible area of concern.</end quote>

Notice, in contrast, how the title hypes it up, making it look like some deadly connection has definitively been found with this vaccine!?

<begin quote>Health Officials Warn of H1N1 Vaccine's Link to Deadly Nerve Disease</end quote>

Nothing like playing into people's fears! This really frustrates me!

I agree I refuse to get the vax!

I did have a confirmed case of H1N1 and I felt horrible but lived through it.
I spent 5 days in the hospital, 3 of which were due to the flu and the others were because I have CFRD and that was out of control. I have sugars over 500 constantly even when I didn't eat or drink. They put me on an insulin drip and my sugars were still high, in the 300's. This went on for about 2-3 days and then finally when I was feeling alot better I dropped down to 41 because my body responded to the insulin finally.

I learned that if you think you have the flu- CALL YOUR DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY! Don't wait- they can start you on Tamiflu and that will help control the symptoms right away if it really is the flu

Symptoms are just as advertised on the news, Fevers body aches, chills, sweats, headaches, ect.
There is no reason to freak out tho like everyone is, its totally just like the regular flu but it can knock us cfer's for a loop if we don't watch it
