I've had some blood streaked sputum in the past. How seriously you need to consider it depends on what the color of the rest of the sputum is. In a majority of cases, blood streaking indicates some form of infection. Other times it may just be that you coughed a little harder than your lungs could handle. Do mention it to the doctor, but you don't need to lose any sleep over it. Make sure you're taking your vitamins, especially vitamin K which helps keep bleeding issues under control.

I've coughed up blood on a prior occasion. It think the reason was because I had my settings all the way up on my vest AND didn't wear a shirt to do it. I solvented this, and have never coughed up any blood since.

So this question was about running around naked doing your vest.

I agree with most everyone. Streaking can be a sign of infectiion but it can also be a small bleed from the release of a scab or scar . or a large arterial bleed. Either way bleeds should always be discussed with a doctor. It may just mean taking an antibiotic at home for a couple of weeks.

Listen to your body. Signals from our bodies are a good thing . It is our bodies way of letting us know that things aren't quitre right for whatever reason. If if it just a warning to slow down and get some rest.
I usually dont do therapy (vest ) for 24 hours after a bleed and really take it easy. NO lifting etc. for 24 hours anything that might raise the blood pressure.;
