Sakem, I just wanted to respond to your post. Yes, my son has cultured staph before. But if I know someone has MRSA I feel I need to keep at a distance. Although the MRSA is causing a leg infection for this other child, if my child were to have it colonizing in his lungs it could really cause him some serious problems.
As you know, the bugs that cause so much damage to CFers usually don't cause any problems for people who aren't already ill or immuno-compromised. When my son was about 6 months old he cultured pseudomonas (fortunately, he hasn't since). We knew someone on methotrexate (sp?), a chemotherapy drug. We did stay away because the pseudo could be very dangerous to them.
