I'm pretty sure the official answer is "no." I've tried many times. They don't want their ass on the line which is what they're afraid they'd have, taking our blood. I believe the "position" is that they don't want to allow us to deplete our systems.

On the Red Cross website it says people who have had a lung infection in the past year can not dontate blood. I am assuming that pretty much covers everybody here.

I got an official letter of rejection which I questioned because I thought maybe they misunderstood the nature of CF beign genetic and they said that although it is a genetic disease there have been some 'fears' that people with compromised immune systems could be harmed by our blood.

thanks for the replys, i'll probably try to donate at school this year because it'll get me out of class for a while <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> if they want it they can have it if not, i'll take my blood and leave, and still skip class like i would be if i was giving blood
