ladybug, besides the short of breath my son is your clone. He to is on prevacid everday . He has sinus that look like CF too according to CF docs. He has recently tested negative for common 70 genes. I am however at his next appointment going to request more genetic tests is they do not mention it . He has had problems exercising for the past 5 years. He is 18 and has had sweat tests 64,57 and 55 at CF Center. I have read the entries on this topic and it makes me more determined to get answers. Thanks!!

I have acid reflux. The dr. didn't do anything specific to diagnose it though. It was my primary care physician that dx me. I would get heartburn and then it would make its way up to my throat with the yucky burning feeling. I got to the point where I was using Maalox everyday and I just wanted something stronger. The dr. put me on Ranitidine 2 times a day (actually it was as needed up to 2 times a day). If I am late taking it or accidentally miss my dose, I will definitely know it.

I do clear my throat alot. I don't really know if it has anything to do with the reflux or not. I only get a hoarse voice occasionally, but I did notice that the one time that I took (inhaled) Tobi, my voice did get hoarse.

I hope you find out what's wrong. I was reluctant to start another medicine, but now I don't think I could live without it. Good luck.

I actually sleep with my bed inclined because my reflux is so severe.. If I lay flat it gurgles right up to my mouth... Not good, espoghageal reflux can lead to cancer if not treated.....

I take prevacid, and when I have extra money I buy my protonix prescription as well.... it helps...

I think my reflux is so bad because steroids burn holes in your stomach.
