Random CF encounter

Not yet for me, but I know others have. I keep a look out. AT the train station last week there was a woman who had a bag similiar to those from the CF Conference this year so it caught my eye. She kept an eye on me which made me wonder also. I didnt say anything until I could read what was on the bag & it had nothing to do with CF. I guess she was keeping an eye on me because I was staring at her LOL! Point is I keep an eye out.....

once when I was a child I went to PIzza Hut with a friend of mine, and as was my habit then, I set my enzymes out next to my plate so I would remember to take them - and the waitress came up to me and asked if I had CF because someone in her family had it and she recognized the pills.
Then, about a year ago, I was out at a bar and this acquaintance of mine - one of those friend of a friend of a friend kind of people, came up and started talking about CF to me, telling me about his best friend who had died from it and stuff - and I thought it was kinda wierd for him to just start telling me this (he'd been drinking), and finally I asked him if he knew I had Cf and who told him - and he said no one told him, he just recognized it by the sound of my cough.
So that's my stories. I have yet to catch someone popping enzymes - though if they are as good at me about being stealth with taking them, then they will never be seen!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

There is a guy in my car club who after he found out about my cf told me his neice has it. I never met her though. I did however meet a guy who is 29 years old last summer at a car show. I knew he would be there because when i heard it was a show to benefit cf i wrote to the director and asked him who he knew with cf and he gave me the guys email. We emailed back and forth a few times and met at the show. Of coarse we kept the 4 ( more like 5-6 ) foot rule. I told him in my email that i have b.cepacia and that we need to keep distance. It was very cool to meet someone with cf and especially someone with cf that is into cars ( like me) <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I had a very random encounter. We were on the beach in the Bahamas with the family just hanging out. My mother got up and walked over to this lady and asked her if her daughter had CF. Well needless to say the lady was floored since she did! That was almost eight years ago and we are still in touch with them.

Yep! In October we were at Disney World of all places...and what are the chances...seated at the next table was a family about our age and the kids about our kids' ages. The mom comes up to me and asks if my son has CF. Of course I told her he did and she said their son (same age as Ethan) does too and that the enzymes and applesauce gave it away. Blew my mind. Right NEXT to us. I had even remarked how cute their little boy was b/c he had fallen asleep at the table! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Oh...and my mom went to our local fabric/craft store to get beads and charms because she makes "65 Roses" bracelets and she happen to be talking about them to another lady in line and the cashier (teenager) started to ask questions like how to purchase one and finally told her that HE has CF! I thought that was CRAZY!
