We avoid campfires -- mainly 'cuz DS doesn't know enough to stay away from the smoke yet. We have a propane grill. We don't avoid swimming pools, in fact DS is currently taking swimming lessons at the school pool. We do avoid hot tubs, but children aren't supposed to use them anyway and the gross ME out.

I do burn candles once in awhile to freshen up the kitchen. Usually when DS isn't around. Not because of the smoke factor but because he's a little fire bug and loves to blow them out.

Have always used ceiling fans.

We don't have a cat -- DH doesn't like them. We have a dog. They snuggle on the chair together. DS loves getting puppy kisses (and giving them back -- bleah)

Don't really bake 'cuz I'm the only one who eats the stuff and I could stand to lose several pounds.

I use regular cleaning products. We have hardwood floors & tile. Mainly because if I SEE the dog hair wafting across the floors, I'll vacuum a bit more often. Basically clean the house once a week -- sweep and swiffer wet jet a bit more often when the dog is shedding and tracks in.

DS loves being outside. I do make sure he wears lots of sunscreen because he's on septra and zithromax and fair skinned. He's helped garden a little bit.

I wash DS blankie once a week, when I wash his bedding. It's my understanding pillows for normal people should be replaced every 3 years, but we tend to get attached to our pillows. Only have washed stuffed animals when he's vomited or spit up on them.

Our doctor said the real danger with hot tubs is the chlorine. It is irritating, at higher levels in a spa than in a pool, and evaporates into the air due to the hot water. The dr. recommended nose plugs in the pool and especially the spa. That said, I didn't even mention this to my teen daughter when I heard it last year. I doubted very much she'd stay out of the water or use nose clips, but it would be one more thing to make her feel bad about. I guess we all have to decide what level of risk we are willing to take (like playing in the mud). She's a year older now -- I think I should tell her for this summer, and let her make that choice.

Even before DS was born I avoided hot tubs after an article came out talking about how nearly all hot tubs house some type of microbial growth. How swimming pools tended to have very small particles of bacteria while with hot tubs it was in the millions. The hot tub rash some people get from poorly maintained spas is pseudomonas. Bleah!
