This has happened three times in the last week. Emily will start to shiver uncontrollably, then vomit profusely. I am stumped.
Each occurance has been in the morning, about an hour to an hour and a half after stopping her overnight feed. The shivering doesn't seem to be related to being cold, since it comes on suddenly and she is indoors and properly dressed. As soon as she finishes vomitting, she is fine- happy and back to her normal self.
We recently changed the formula she gets overnight. We used to use 3 cans of pediasure. Now we are using 2 cans and one box of Resource Just for Kids which is 1.5 Cal. I thought at first that the extra calories overnight were just too much for her, or that something in the new stuff just doesn't agree with her. But, it doesn't happen every day. It happened last Monday, Friday, and then again today (Monday).
It certainly doesn't seem to be viral, like a flu-bug, since it comes and goes so sproadically. It's not the result of crying or coughing...I just don't get it.
I HATE the idea that she is losing all those calories, especially since she has been a real STINKER about eating during the day lately.
I have a call in to our cf dietician, but I'm open to all suggestions from the experts - YOU!
Any and all ideas welcome!
