Find a different facility. They obviously don't take your daughter's health seriously, and that is unacceptable!

I guess that was my original reaction, too! When DS was a baby, there were a couple times I felt that a caregiver felt giving him enzymes (sprinkling them on a spoonful of bananas) were too much work, but the daycare director runs a tight ship and those individuals didn't last very long.

You say you are mad -- I was wondering if you SHOW that you are angry. It seems outrageous that they would minimize the needs of a child with special medical issues.

I figure that you must really like this preschool. So I would in no uncertain terms say, "I want my child to eat the food that I provide, be given the time she needs to eat it, or I'm yanking her right out of here." Of course you can put this in words that are right for you. I'd also let them know that small businesses survive by word of mouth plus these days, people post what they think of schools. They can't afford any negativity.

Thanks so much for all the great advice. We work so hard at home to make sure she eats well and maintains her weight and just the thought that she could loose weight freaks me out. I work and the little time that I'm home I spend feeding her and doing her treatments. I know that many people doesn't know anything about CF and there's not much information out there about it. I've been told about educating people about it but what can I do if even my mother in law doesn't want to talk about it. Everytime I try to talk to people about it they don't look interested especially because my daughter "looks fine". I don't want to threaten people (I feel like doing it sometimes)but I'm going to be more assertive when I ask them to cooperate more. Thanks again. I just think is great I can "talk" to people I can rely on.

I just told my mum and dad your story and they both said, 'take her out of there, right away'.

Specially when you have really tried to educate those people on your daughters needs and they just don't get it. It's just bad that they think you daughter 'looks fine' so she must be healthy, they should know what you do to try and keep her healthy like that.
