Recent findings from CFF related pancreatic enzymes??

The site also states:
DEHP (di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate), which has raised the most public concern, is not in pancreatic enzymes.

The CFF website says..."It is the "enteric-coating" on the beads that may contain phthalates."

My daughter takes Creon5 but she is too young to swallow the pills so we open the capsules and mix the bead with applesauce.

From that statement it seems to me that this would be a way around the ingesting the phthalates.</end quote></div>

Actually no, Marla, its not the capsule, is the coating around each of the beads inside. Those beads are formulated to get all the way to the intestine without dissolving. It is the reason why you have to use something acidic like applesauce rather than something base like yogurt or pudding. A dairy product would begin to dissolve the beads faster than the applesauce.

Creon 5 DOES have the pthalates. My daughter takes them too. I'm going to see if we can switch to something else.

We've been using pancrease MT4s, now MT10s since DS was a couple weeks old. He'd started on Pancreacarb, but his doctor switched them.
