I was wondering where did you first hear about the oregano oil? This was probably covered somewhere else, but sorry.
Do you reccomend any site, I can read more about it? Have there been any studies on it yet?
Thanks,

Oddly enough, it was from my sister. She is a massive hippy/earthy chick and saw that I was despondent with regards to how my normal treatment for CF wasn't really working anymore, and I was getting worse. She saw something somewhere about how oil of oregano did this and did that, and she related it to me. I thought it was too good to be true, but i humored her and looked into it myself. The more I tried to disprove it as BS, the more I saw it wasn't BS, and held very strong promise for cystic fibrosis patients, to keep their lung/body bugs down, and hopefully at the least not hospitalized nearly as much. I'm a pretty thorough person when it comes to something I am interested in, so basically for the last several months i've been doing nothing but researching oregano oil, and other essential oils for the possible treatment of cystic fibrosis. What i've found is pretty amazing, and has had amazing positive results for myself, and others that I know, even those without CF. I knew before that cinnamon oil, thyme oil, clove oil, and other oils were amazing antimicrobials (both bacteria and viruses, each oil having a different potency to different things), but some are a tad more "questionable" with regards to internal intake, so I was a tad stymied on what to take and how before that other person on here discussed how they use the facial steamer for their delivery.
The use of oregano oil has also fully eradicated my gout that has plagued me for quite a while before I started taking it. I used to also have other various joint pain throughout my body, which I took as a sign of just getting older, but that is now gone also. My skin has cleared up by leaps and bounds (used to get fairly bad back acne, probably partially due to bacteria in my system). My blood pressure has dropped a decent amount. With just oregano oil being used before i started the sauna inahler treatment with multi oils, my CF symptoms were pretty much eradicated (hardly any congestion - pretty much crystal clear, change of color in mucous - from thick green to light green/clear, and I know for sure that my lung capacity has increased).
After my third treatment with the inhaled multi oils tonight, i got a ton of snot out of my nose, and coughed up some gunk (though not a large amount). After a while, It felt like my treatment had fully broken up the stuff in my lungs to an almost pure fluid form, as in nearly like water. I was tempted to use my vest to get EVERYTHING out of my lungs, but alas i'm a pretty lazy person, especially now. We all know our bodies, it felt like I had some old remnants still in my bronchials that used to be thick/hard and weren't moving at all, and then after the treatment they were for sure moving.
Anyways enough rambling, sorry if you have heard variations on this before from me, but im tired and just explaining it again to someone who apparently didn't get the info from any of the other posts.
As for your request for research information, there is a TON of it regarding oil of oregano, monolaurin, and other essential oils for health benefit all over the internet. Ill link one of the good scientific research databases that I used while researching the substance, and you can go from there.
http://www.ingentaconnect.com/
Go there and just type in oregano oil and have electronic content checked, you will get 3-4 pages of 57 hits each relating to oregano oil and other essential oils with regards to their findings in scientific research. Google also can find a tremendous amount of information on oregano and other essential oils and their role in medicinal applications for CF. In the very end, i'm lead to believe that the proper selection of oil(s), doseage, and delivery of those oils with possible other supplements like monolaurin, can increase both quality and longevity of life in CF patients.
As i've said countless times in the past though, don't take my word for anything. Do your own research, and run your findings past your doctor/pulmonologist, and then make the decision to see if it helps you or not. So far nothing is 100%, but from what i've been told by other people using the substance from many different sources, all of them have had positive results except one person that I can recall (reports of bad headaches, from a post transplant CF patient using the oil), and out of those positive results, quite a few have reported "amazing results".
Now all I want is to try and get actual clinical trials for oregano oil (and possibly other essential oils and combinations of those) and CF patients, but i'm pretty sure that will be a cold day in hell because it requires quite a bit of fundind, and that funding usually comes from pharmaceutical companies looking to $$$$ in on the findings, and there just isn't any money in something thats natural that can be bought off the internet for as low as 15-25 dollars, as opposed to the massive prices they can get off of other medications to treat our symptoms.
