Im 18 and on the list since january 2009. I was once a runner,(slow but still ran). im hoping that new lungs will alow me to start running again and faster. If you are a runner, how far have you been able to run after getting new lungs, if not a runner, what other sports can you do without being totally winded and for how long?

I'm not really a runner but after my tx I wanted to be able to run so I did. I can't run for a long time at one because I never tried to, but I was told that if I trained for a marathon I would be abled to do it. I hope this helps you out, I really do need to run more often but I am lazy. Fasted pace walking is what I usually, something to get the heart rate up.

I started running after tx. In fact at the Transplant Games I ran two years in the 1/4 mile.
What can you do? Whatever you feel you can do. There is a UNC transplantee who does marathons and also IRONMAN!!!!

You can do anything you set your mind too! Of course, without the physical limitations it will be much easier.

Crossing that finish line was hands down the most rewarding moment of my 26 years.
