When Cory was at school, I provided the school with snacks for him for the week. They kept them in the nurses office so the other children wouldn't feel left out. We looked at the schedule of the day and found a time that he would go to the nurse for a snack. When weight became a issue, we even provided ensure.

Hi Paula. Have you had a 504 or IEP filed for him at the school? I would suggest you try to include in there that he has to eat a snack as one of the necessary points. Also, just wondering, how has the school decided to deal with the enzyme situation? Will he have to go to the nurse to get them? Or is the teacher allowed to give them out?

I have a son going into first grade too. But my CFer is still too young for me to worry too much about all this. Of course you know your mind goes to all of these things, even ifyou don't want to.

When I was in elementary school (many moons ago), my mom kept snacks in the nurses office. My favorite was always the Kraft Handi Snacks Cheese N' Crackers. They were easy to keep stocked as well. My school was always very willing to make any accomodations I needed. I don't think it will be a problem for you.

Good Luck!
