As a bit of a side note.. I too was a child of the 80s and this meant that I mixed with other CFers a lot. I had two rather close CF friends when I was young, both with worse cases of CF than my own. None of us ever caught anything off each other. Not saying that kids don't catch bugs off each other, but it doesn't always end up bad.

I also went to school with another girl with CF in primary school. We weren't in the same class but we did go to the medical bay together every lunchtime to take our enzymes...

Anyway...

I too find it questionable the clinic told you that the family
"asked for a list of school and then said that about you
leaving or there would be consequences" A. why would the
clinic tell you this? (I'm not doubting they did I'm asking to what
purpose?) B.  It sounds ridiculous..."consequences"
puhleeease!  Do people even talk like that?<br>

I think you are getting faulty info from your clinic, maybe they
are just not communicating well but it sounds off.  Like it
was mentioned it is GOSSIP and unfortunately the one that is really
going to suffer from it and the emotions it has brought out in you
is the other CF child.  If they are in class together...which
would be the real concern which I would guess the school will
avoid, but if they are my guess is your child will recognize THE
Cough fairly quickly if she knows to listen for it.  And do
boys and girls even play together in elementary school....my memory
says No..it falls under the eeeeww....coodies category.<br>

I get where you are coming form but I think we are all worried
about the other CF kid.  I understand you are a dedicated Mom
but you know many a kid has been squashed under the squeaky wheels
of someone elses dedicated parents.  So look out for your
kiddo but I actually think you can leave this to the kids to work
out...and remember wether you mean to or not you will pass your
attitude to your daughter...from what you have written here I'm
worried she may view the other kid as an enemy out to get
them......<br>
