Has anyone taken Fosamax and had heartburn so bad that it caused nausea and vomiting for a week straight? I took my 1st dose of Fosamax last Tuesday and since then, I've been sicker (stomach wise) than I've ever been in my entire life. At first I didn't relate the heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and fosamax to each other. I ended up going to my local (non-CF) clinic and they thought I had a stomach virus so they gave me something for nausea. Well the next day I wake up and I'm vomiting blood so I went to the ER. They ran a tube thru my nose and down into my stomach and then pumped it out. Of course the only thing in my belly was mucus from my sinues, saline from them pumping it, and blood. They also had to give me fluids because I was dehydrated. The vomiting blood, they thought, was from busting a blood vessel in my stomach from throwing up so much. Anyways, it has now been a 7 days since I took Fosamax and I've had very little relief. I've been taking TUMS, prilosec, pepto bismal, and anything else I can find for heartburn and nothing is helping. Every morning I throw up anything in my stomach, which isn't much because it hurts too bad to swallow. My CF doctor is sending me to a GI doctor, but I can't get in until August 26th and I can't handle feeling like that long. Has anyone been thru this and if so, is there anything I can do for some temporary relief?
