Sex Drive Question

Hi this is an embarassing question but I need to find out. I am 21 with cf, and until recently had not had sex for about a year. Back then I never had a problem, but with my current girlfriend, I get aroused but not enough to have sex. I have read that cf is not related to this but that diabetes(which i also have) may be a cause. I am comfortable with my cf doctor and want to talk to him about this, but would he be able to prescribe me some kind of medicine for this since I am not comfortable talk to my diabetic doctor about it? Thanks

You know that it doesn't necessarily mean that diabetes IS the cause, but could be. If you haven't had sex in a year, it could just be a little anxiety. And that is very common.

Talk to the doctor you feel most comfortable with. If it turns out that diabetes is an issue, Diabetics can take Viagra (as long as your doctor approves) and in fact in the UK, diabetics get Viagra for free. So at least you know it is a typical theraputic use.

Viagra is also now being used for people who climb at high altitudes to prevent pulmonary hypertenson. Viagra works bt relaxing blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow, so that more oxygen is available.

If your present state is rather new, I'd give it time before jumping to conclusions.

Good question. Remember that while it might be a medical issue that's causing this, there might also be some underlying turmoil in your relationship that causes this. Make sure that you and your girlfriend have an open line of communication about sex and that she knows how you feel.

I would talk to your docter about it possibly being a medication you are on. Reason I say this is I was in the same boat for a couple of months. I switched sleeping pills and my sex drive returned. Then I started thinking back and it was when I started my new sleeping pill my lack of a sex drive was gone.
