what did your doc say about the oregano? Any studies or info to look into?

I've recently cultured achromobacter, which my doc says is bad, rare, and not well understood. In addition to the normal P.A. and staph. We tried beating it with strong IV drugs when it was fresher and it subsided and came back shortly after. bummer.

Eric, was it Achromobacter Xylosoxidans? I've cultured that for a year or so, but my doc said it was nothing to worry about. o_O I've been on no less than a million antibiotics in the past year so I think if they were going to kill it.. they would have by now.

Just like most other people I have Staph and PA. I've had S. Maltophilia since I was 18 or so, and E. Coli since I was maybe 22ish. (ew, I know. like I said in the other thread... stay away from Lake Erie ) Oh and Aspergillus somewhere in there too and some other weird stuff I can't remember now. The only bug that I can seem to actually eradicate is the staph, the other stuff always shows up on my cultures even when I'm "well". Not really too suprising though.

Oh and this thread made me think of these Plush Bacteria. Who knew the common cold was so cute?

Zoe cultures MRSA, staph, and also a yucky, rare one, like you Eric, but hers is called Acinetobacter. It took iv's, 2 straight months of inhaled Tobi, then 2 weeks of inhaled Gentamycin to get hers to clear up to where she isn't coughing. Don't know about her culture yet though, she goes Tuesday for her culture.

This is a interesting topic though!

My regular bugs for the last year MRSA, reg staph, and steno.

Interestingly, I have not had a positive PA in about 5 years. But I know it's hiding in the deep recesses somewhere because my coly rotation always makes me feel better.
