Hi everyone - this is Vicki's friend Stephanie, I arrived last night. Vicki is doing so well right now, it's amazing. She's resting a bit right now, but asked me to post on the website.
She had a good day yesterday, good night, and good morning so far. She has an appetite, which is great, but the acid reflux problem is really bothering her and makes it hard to eat much. She looks GREAT - I will take another picture and try to post it soon on her caringbridge website. I read Vicki all of your postings and they seem to be making her feel so good - even when she gets tired, she closes her eyes and listens, and your kind words bring warm smiles to her face. She got some sleep last night and looked strong this morning - when the doctor came in to check on her and asked how she is today, she said "I'm wonderful!" Isn't that fantastic? She is so strong.
She just perked up and asked me to tell you the following update: There are two chest tubes left - one should be taken out today, so that's good news. They are trying to solve the reflux problem. Pain has been under control thanks to several strong medications. She's feeling better - she can breathe a little easier each day. She's sleeping better, and she said she is happy to have me here. Going to the commode basically on her own without needing someone to help her. Everyday she feels a little bit stronger, better. She's under good care, and looks forward to her life at home but for right now she feels best here in this hospital getting the care that she needs. She wants to thank you all very much for your messages.
Thank you all for your love and support!
