I know you asked for support from a single parent of a CFer, which I am not. I am, however, a CFer of a single parent. My birth father may as well have never existed, I actually only met him once when I was in high school. Meeting him changed nothing for me. I know my father as well as I know your next door neighbor. He never once supported my mother and wanted no part of me, CF or not. My mother saw no financial support or anything from him.
I guess I'm just writing to tell you that your daughter will one day see everything you do/have done for her and be so grateful. My mom and I lived with her parents while she got herself through nursing school. She was able to afford a house and insurance for me through her work. My mom jumped through A LOT of hoops for me as I grew up. I know it wasn't easy for her, but it was doable. I hope you get other responses from single parents but I wanted to give you something from a different perspective. Your daughter will one day look at you and see you as the strongest person in her life, and that is THE BEST thing you can give her.
Having my father around, whether simply for child support or for a whole, complete family would have made things SO MUCH easier for us both, but I wouldn't change it for anything. Know that through all the trials and tribulations of having a CF child by yourself, your daughter will see a magnificent woman and has one of the strongest people in the world to look up to in you.
My prayers are with you and I do hope you find the support you're looking for.
