Sinus Flushes

Watch me be stupid. I imagine nasal sprays are not the same as sinus flushes... but what's the difference? I use Nasacort, but that's just a spray.

Not stupid (<u>especially</u> since you use Nasacort....that makes you unstupid).

Flush is just salt water up your nose to clear your sinuses and help dislodge boogers.

Intranasal steroid actually has a steroid in it to reduce inflammation. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I also wanted to add for Emilys question - I used a saline spray for the longest time and thought it was the same as a sinus rinse. They may be similar but not the same.

Basically with the saline rinse you are using a whole lot more saline to flush through your sinuses versus using just a saline spray. You are using enough for it to go in one nostril and flow out the other. I know it may sound God awful but it has really helped me.

I use the Neilmed sinusrinse. I am currently trying to get a Netipot to try too. I also take a Saline Nasal Spray Gel by Ayr. Not quite a gel but not quite a spray - it is thicker than regular saline and not as thick as a gel - plus it is still in spray form. It helps me to blow my nose easier because the regular saline sprays run down the back of my throat and give me the post nasal drip cough.

I also take NasacortAQ twice a day.

Take Care,
Lindsey
