Hi teri, I wake up with coughing fits and vomit sometimes too. Sometimes it is because my lungs are congested...sometimes I feel like i ate too much and my lungs can't handle that pressure...sometimes I get spasms from asthma...sometimes the actual food or liquor that I drink makes me wake from my sleep coughing (especially liquor). Throwing up makes me feel much better but drains the life blood out of me. I do two things which make the cough stop. I take a few puffs of Symbicort and I frink hot green tea. The hot tea calms my inflammed lungs. I also sometimes sleep with an extra pillow. Hope this helps.

Ummm... I do that alot and I thought it was normal. Especially lately, I've gotten to the point where I'm so use to it that I don't wake up that much when I'm coughing in my sleep but my parent's from down the hall hear it and wake me up. Then I take Robitusin (miss spelled it) and then I usually fall back asleep quickly. And it doesn't matter if I'm on tobi or not. Hmm...maybe I'm wierd.
