Definitely ask the clinic. Our clinic often helps out in times like this. If they don't have one, they may be able to call the insurance company and get an override. We have had to do that for several situations. If you can get a doctor to document the need, the insurance company will usually back down.

we've been using the fishy mask since DS was 3 months old, but I think he weighed more than your DS.


Hopefully you can get something.

I have never had to pay for any neb cups or masks for Austin. Everytime we go to clinic they ask if i need any and they usually bring me a bag of neb cups and masks. I guess since we get them like that i never knew you had to pay for them.

We've always used the bubbles mask as well -- held it up to ds' face instead of using the elastic band, so we could control were it went -- instead of covering his whole face. I do know Pari makes three different sized masks for "babys" -- think they're for up to 5 years old. I'd encourage you to call your CF clinic as well to see if you can get some freebies from them.
