What I was saying was that the law, in idea, was a good plan (although even before it was passed, I never really had any trouble avoiding smoke indoors). However, when it was actually put into action, a whole new problem was created (as Emily said). I feel that seeing the way the streets are so full of smokers outside of restaurants/bars/clubs now, the law should be modified to ban smoking while just standing around outside these establishments too- not only because of the air pollution and irritating smoke, but it literally clogs up the street with people. I'm inviting anyone to come into NYC on a Friday night in a neighborhood with an active night life and take a deep breath and see what I mean. It's practically as bad as being indoors with a couple of smokers.
