Fun fun fun...
Anyways, as some remember me and the doc went round and round about me wanting a CT scan, before and after I had massive bleeds. I did what was suggested, telling them I either get a more indepth scan to help isolate/diagnose my residual bleeding probs, or I get his refusal in writing, etc etc.
They called me back soon after that voice mail to schedule me for a CT scan with contrast (extremely, immediately scheduled also, which is nearly unheard of for CF's here btw). I show up, still upset in general. My orders for the ct scan is listed as canceled. I'm like "WTF?". Im told to go to my room, and all I had ordered was a regular x-ray (that btw I had done before he put me on the anitbiotics a while back). I inform my lady and mom whats going on. Lady wanted to leave work and start ripping throats out (highly volatile english temper!). After a while, I get my vitals and crap, my blood pressure was VERY high (anger). After blood drawn, vitals, x-ray, waiting for transport to and fro, the director comes in and goes over my chart...She then acts like I was supposed to get a CT scan the whole time, and that getting an x-ray first is standard protocal (news to me, who knows).
Anyways, doc comes in like nothing happened, and makes a warm gesture by applying his freshly extracted antigermicidal hand gel to my face and says something about shaving gel...Was kind of comical though.
He then tells me to get the CT scan, because he saw what he thought was a "Cavity on your lower right lobe". Um what?!?! I then politely ask him wtf is up with that. He starts to tell me that if that is what it is, and he POSSIBLY saw one on my lower left lobe, what all could have caused it. From Staph necrosis to Mychobacteria...And all that could possibly take place depending on what they find...From massively long oral treatment to cure the mychobacteria (If I remember right, 16 months!!!), to possible lobectomy of my lower right lobe...
Always great fuggin news. Meanwhile, I feel great in general. I just have light bleeds (large splotches and streaks) after my nebs and vest here and there...I want to figure out what is up with this. But it begs the question...Why wasn't this "cavity" seen on the x-ray before my IV meds?
So anyways, I called my lady and my mom and told them what was up...I guess i'm viewed fondly in some peoples eyes, because all day and night I have been receiving calls from every hierarchy level of friend and acquaintance i've ever known. Prclaiming everything from "Man I heard this, how ya doin? whats up?", to "OMFG DONT YOU DARE DIE FAG!!" (for some reason, even though most of my close friends and I are all hetero, our term of endearment seems to be "fag", even though we have tons of flamingly gay friends also).
So has anyone else heard of having a "lung cavity"/"pulmonary cavity" etc? I googled it up, and all kinds of stuff could be responsible for it...From pneumonia, to embolisms, to mychobacteria, and crazy TB related crap and all other tons of crap...Of course in my great WTF'ness I forgot to ask just how big this cavity was...
So I go in tomorrow to get the results of my scans and try to hack up some goo for them to study for that mycobacteria crap...
So after being slightly bummed on all this, i'm about to leave work and find out my very close friend had his wife leave him and take the daughter with her (mostly his fault). He was wanting me to come hang out and have some brews. Then soon after, right before leaving work, my other very close friend was drunk and wanting to hang out because he "had the worst day of his life" (more female mate crazy crap also). We ended up drinking some brew at the bar, then at my friends house and multiplayer jamming out to guitar hero 2...Apparently, my friends think i'm dieing tomorrow, and were acting as much. I guess I missed the invitation...
So um, cavity? And I *DO NOT* mean "SEARCH!" <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
