So I did the 1 hr glucose test this week and they just called to tell me that I was very slightly elevated. So of course they want to send me for the 3 hr one. (I've done it before, with my last pregnancy so I know just how fun it is. btw for that pregnancy, I failed the 1 hr and passed the 3 hr.)
Thing is, they said they want it to be at 130, and mine was 140. As long as I can remember (pre-preg) my glucose has always been around 140ish after a meal, going back to when I was very little. It gets checked 2x a year (more if i'm in the hospital). I've never had any symptoms of cfrd.
For my preg glucose test, they had me eat a normal breakfast, but did not draw my blood till 1:20. (I drank the sugar stuff at 12:20)
I ate breakfast around 9 which was a tiny cup of kashi with milk and a 2 egg omelette with cheese and 2 of those little cherry tomatoes. At 10:30 I had a hard boiled egg to try to help keep me from passing out since I had to wait till after 2 pm to eat next!! Again-common sense would tell me to fast, and do the test first thing-rather than choking down protein and drag myself around till 1 pm for the blood test then. But, I was following their directions. Is it just me?
I am calling this test a fluke and rather than doing the 3hr, wondering if I should just ask to do the 1 hr again.
THOUGHTS??
