I'm anxious to learn more about families where one child has CF and another (or more) don't (or even multiple children that do have it). I'm curious how the interactions go, as I would absolutely love to grow our family but wife isn't sure how she feels about that yet.

When I edit my posts for spelling, which is often because I am trying to be stealthy and sneak in some posts from work and therefore trying to type too fast, it ends up removing my emoticons and replacing them with the IMG tags, should I be clicking "Do not parse emoticons" when I edit a post?

You're welcome. I am lucky to be a mum of such beautiful little girls - they are absolutely amazing. My eldest daughter is 5 and my youngest daughter is 3 and they are soulmates. They get along just fine, have their little rows like everyone does, but they absolutely adore each other. My youngest daughter was diagnosed with CF at 6 weeks old, picked up on screening. Me and my husband didn't even know we were carriers until then. Perhaps that was a good thing though, if you know what I mean?! Hope to see you around.

I was simply thinking about the "big brother and little sister" thing.
You know? Brother's kind of feel a level of protection and responsibility for little sisters <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Although, I am sure that Sisters feel the same way <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'll take whichever God decides to loan me <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
Right now I couldn't imagine directing my attention on anyone/anything other than Noah. He's just blossoming so much everyday. What a miracle!

Last night he got to hang out with a ton of people for the first time in his life. He couldn't stop giggling and his aunt Jackie got him a "Tickle me Elmo" that he loves more than life iteself! LOL

Oh... the magic of childhood. I'm re-learnnig so much from him!

Hi Jay. Our firstborn son Aidan was diagnosed at 8 days old as well. We were shocked as we were told I was not a carrier. Long story but Aidan is a Double Delta.

He turned two in September and is the most amazing thing in the world to us. I wouldn't have him any other way. He has been VERY healthy other than some sinus issues. He weighs in at the top of the charts- noone believes he has CF because he is so BIG. He is spunky, spirited, delightful and ACTIVE!

As far as other children, we were torn as what to do. We finally decided to do IVF/PGD to try to have a child without CF. We are currently 14 weeks pregnant. We did not do an amnio so we will find out when the baby is born. We felt that if we could prevent something as serious as CF, then it was our responsibility to do so. Others do not agree and that is fine. But this was the best decision for us. Have fun with your little one!

Just wanted to say that Noah is double delta as well.

At the moment we are trying really hard (been trying since September) to get our insurace to cover RSV shots. They've refused several times and we are in our final appeal now. We have a meeting with them on the 2nd of January.
CHoP and his normal Pediatrician have both written letters, made calls, etc... tis insurance simply wont cover it (Keystone)

Hopefully we get somewhere on Tuesday.

I want to spend bazillions of hours per day (yep, I'm appealing for extended hours in a day too!) with this child <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
