I echo everything that jaimers said. I go to UNC adult CF center as well and love it. Been going there for about 10 years now. I always feel involved in my treatment. I do not feel like what they say goes, I have a say so and if i speak up, I do not feel like it goes in one ear and out the other of the doc. I am always able to get a hold of my dr either by phone or email along with Kathy who is a CF nurse slash coordinator who keeps that ship steady. They also have great research there as well. I just finished with a research study after the New Year, but have also turned some down in the past and they were supportive of that.

As far as assistance programs here in NC, we do have medicaid but that is about it as far as state that I know of for CF. We did have an Adult CF Fund here in NC that ran out of money and was cut about a year ago. I used it to pay for some of my meds that my insurance did not cover, but with all the budget cuts going around, it got the axe. They have been fighting to get it back but I highly doubt it will happen. Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have!
