Sores on bum

Hi,

When Justin was little, we used to have strep of his rectal area a lot. He must have have it 5 times in 4 months. We were in the ped's office every week to be checked!!! He has eosinophilic esophagitis (allergic esophagitis) too. We are not sure he has CF (has documented PI and 1 mutation) but just thought I would add my experience. It helped me on our journey to read about others. Maybe the ped could run a test.

Hope all is well.

I bought a paste that worked great called IHLES Paste. My daughter had, such,a sore bum from the enzymes it sometimes was an open sore and would bleed. We also let her be diaperless quite a bit and let it breathe which helped and didn't use any wipes only wash clothes

I really doubt it's MRSA. MRSA won't go away without oral or IV antibiotics...a simple diaper rash paste or diaper change can't get rid of MRSA - don't worry yourself unnecessarily. DD used to get HORRIBLE diaper rash when her enzymes were dosed incorrectly (i.e., she was having a BM at least six times daily while taking CREON...that resolved as soon as we switched brands). We've always had success with Butt Paste...both with our CF child and non CF children.
