I agree with both Katie and Tom.

Thank goodness there have been people in government with the sense to know that benefiting from aborted fetuses is just morally wrong. Cord blood can provide the same advantages, accomplished in an ethical way.

I still think our answers lie in therapeutics development. I am not convinced we will see a cure for CF in our lifetime, or ever. But I am thoroughly convinced that there will come a day when we will have the medical knowledge and treatments to keep CF from being a life shortening disease.

I've worked in the pharmaceutical industry for the last 6 years, and I'm amazed each day by what is being discovered here in the United States in all different fields. We have the very best minds in the industry when it comes to research and development and I have no doubt they will be able to make great advancements in stem cell research. I'll be honest, one of the main reasons I voted President Obama was because of this issue, if that makes me a terrible person to anyone here then I make no apologies. My daughter is my main concern and as her father I will support anything that helps her live a better life.

The possibility lies in the fact of being able to grow another set of lungs for us... that way we would not have to worry about rejection... that is what I am excited about!!! I am excited in general and this is definately not an issue that people are EVER going to agree on... anything having to do with Abortion, people will never see eye to eye... and that is that... once again if something beautiful like life comes out of a horrible situation, then I am for it... Scientists have said there is a nominal difference in the types of stem cells... and these are the same scientists we are putting all our hope in, so I have to believe they know what they are doing...
SO YEAH!!! Look for the positive and I promise you when it comes to health of your child, you should never say you wouldn't do something... If someone offered you something to make your child's life easier, your child's breathing easier, your child's life longer and better... not one person can say what they would and wouldn't do until they are faced with it...
