Sterilizing nebs while travelling

My son is nebulizing saline solution and we are going to Disney for a week. At home I boil his nebs for 10 minutes but I'm not sure what to do while travelling.

How do you sterilize your nebs? Especially when travelling?

While you are getting the best possible answers here at the site, I would love to know what your center or manufacturer has told you. Have a wonderful time of living real dreams.

i use the medela breast pump sterilization bags...you can get them at target and one can be used up to 20 times. just follow the directions, all you need is a microwave. so, when we travel i always make sure our room has a microwave in it. our cf clinic at hopkins said the medela bags are also ok for everyday sterilization use. (i think there are also a kind of disposible neb you can buy, but they would probably be alot more expensive than puchasing the steam bags) <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

If it is less than a week, I dont worry about sterilizing honestly. I bring my normal tupperware and dish soap and rubbing alcohol and after treatments I clean in warm soapy water (using the tupperware) then I rinse with the rubbing alcohol in the tupperware and set out to dry.

Jerry Cahill has a video on what he does which is uses and electric teapot thing, he sticks all his nebs in that and lets them boil in that and then set out to air dry. I thought that was a good idea b/c I have heard that microwavable sterilizers can create hot spots and possibly melt the nebs I guess. And all you need is an outlet and water.

If all he nebs is saline, I would invest in disposable ones for the trip. Disposable nebs are fine to use with saline or albuterol. The bonus is that you can enjoy the trip and not have to worry about sterilization. You can usually find them for about $1.50 to $2.00 each (plus shipping). Years ago I ordered a case (and got free shipping) and used them when we would travel.
