Sugar

So I've been browsing the internet some more and found this page that linked sugar to increased mucus production. It said something to the affect that when you intake sugar your body goes through a phase of osmosis to balance out the chemicals.

Lately I've been staying away from dairy due to the fear of increased mucus production (even though before on these forums I defended drinking milk... hey in high school I was perfectly healthy while drinking lots of it) but apparently the lactose in the milk is a sugar that triggers it... yea I didn't know that.

So to my point. What are we to drink? Almost everything has at least some sugar in it. I am writing this because I do feel conjusted atm, and doing my vest/hypertonic saline doesn't seem to be enough. Any advice?

can you show the link to that page? I would be very interested in what it has to say. I have been doing a lot of research on sugar also.
Iced tea with lemon, or just water with lemon are some options???

blessings,
missa

hey static... i think there are some articles out there on airway glucose levels in patients with cfrd. it is very interesting! something I have noticed in myself after eating a very large meal with lots of carbs is an immediate increase in bronchial tightness & congestion. within an hour of eating... pretty amazing hu? does not seem to matter if the carbs i eat are complex or simple... there is always a change in the way I breathe, the bronchial tightness and the congestion. it has to be a large amount of carbs... usually above 70g or so.
as far as what to drink: water or maybe a nice lemonade with fresh lemon juice and truvia as a sweetener. it is pretty good that way. I do not recommend truvia for much else though :

Tea! Teas are so incredible. Try Yogi or Numi organic teas. Ever since I switched to water and tea I've felt like superman.
Personally, I add honey to my tea... but there are peppermint leaf teas that are absolutely splendid by themselves.

I could go on and on about the benefits of green tea.. just do some research on a FEW of the herbs that most (good) teas carry... lots and lots of immune support, natural energy, belly help, you name it, there's a natural herb that helps it!

I agree...green tea is good for flushing impurities out of our system.
I also find raspberry tea good for the bloating belly as well
