i just got a new one a couple weeks ago, my daughter's handprint inside a rose(rose is her middle name). hopefully i can get a pic up in a couple days. it is also the first tattoo i have gotten that is out in the open, it is on the inside of my forearm. all my others can be covered by socks, a shirt, or a watch. finally broke my golden rule!! but who better to break it for than my daughter?

S - how long have you had your wrist tattoo for? The reason I ask, is because I'm planning on getting one, but am worried that it may fade quickly?

got it in 2002 and it still looks great today.

it lost a little color in the healing process cuz it's right where the wrist bends and i was wearing gloves due to the fall weather and they rubbed on it a little...it was not easy to take care of a new tat while travelling, either.

Rokiss12, if you're only going to get one tattoo, why do you want it to be solely based around cf? Hasn't it done enough to your life?? Lol! Why don't you get something that represents you as a fighter or your fight against cf (if you're set on the idea of having it to do with cf)?

anonymous-

i defintly see what your saying, and i have been thinking about that alot! i originally had an idea that would incorporate more... so things that i wanted to put in where like, a quote that i really like, my zodiac sign, a cross, a tear drop, and the moon... along with the CF. im defintly not 100% set on this idea about the 65 roses thing, b/c of that reason.

thanks for ur input, i will defintly be changing my mind later on i bet...*thats why im waiting so long to get this thing!* lol!

Kate - I think that if you can't make up your mind about what you want your tattoo to be about, then you're not ready for one. Remember that a tattoo is permenant, so you don't want to get something you may be tired of a couple of years down the road. I agree with anon. Its one thing to get a tattoo about CF if you're planning on getting more then one, but just one tattoo solely based on CF? That being said - its your body, your tattoo - so get whatever it is you want to get!

i thought you had to be 18 to get a tattoo, at least legally here in the u.s.(not sure where you are). if you have someone that will do it for you even though you are underage i would think twice, those guys are usually not the best ones to be putting something permanent on your body.

I know in Canada you can get a tattoo with your parents consent at 16, but any reputable shop with good artists won't tattoo you until you're of legal age.

haha well first off... no worries everybody, i plan on thinking long and hard about this tattoo and making sure its what i really want. and i have been, i don't plan on getting it anytime soon, i want to make sure that i like the same idea for atleast 6 mo.-1 year before i get it. im also planning on finding a VERY reputable shop that i know will do a great tattoo.

from what i know about the tattoo laws here, all you have to get if you under 18 is your parents to consent on a forn or w/e, and my parents are okay with me getting a tattoo, i think they respect that its my own decision, and that i will make the right one. thanks for everyones input/concern, but don't worry! haha,

I'm guessing most of these people are too young to know who this Fantasy Island Tatoo is, but a very clever idea.

I have no pics to share because I don't have a tatoo yet. I've always wanted one. So, this year for my birthday, I think I'm doing ot get started on my tatoo. I have no idea how feasible or expensive this will be - I have 6 months to investigate. Here's my idea, let me know what you think.

I'm planning to get several small roses tatooed on my back/shoulder. This year I'll get 4 yellow roses and 1 pink rose. Yellow for Isabelle who will be 4 in November, pink for Emily who will be one. Next year I'll get 5 for Isabelle and 2 for Em. And so on, until there are 65 roses on my back. It seems like a good way tocommemorate my girls' birthdays while celebrating my own.

Thoughts, comments, questions???

I can't remember exactly when Fantasy Island was around, but I think it was early 80's??? and I thought there must be 1 or 2 that read that & were thinking "What?? I don't get it...." kinda like I am with some modern culture terms I read on here.
