My daughter also does this. I specifically asked her cf doc about it and he said there has not been any studies showing that cf affects the tears in anyway.

That is interesting, thanks Debbie for replying to this. Did the CF dr. mention what is could be from? That makes me feel so much better hearing there are no studies linking it to CF too. Everyone always comments to me about the lines from her tears - so in the back of my head I always get upset wondering, and now I am anxiously awaiting the genetic testing, and trying to find another cause/resolution.

I have had this happen to me but usually only during the summer when its super hot it. If I cry and let them dry up I get the white lines. I always just assumed its cuz I am so darn salty <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Also when I sweat and it dries up I get white streaks, usually on my face but also on my arms and legs. My one friend gets a kick out of it and always offers me up to people to "taste" (sounds weird I know but you need to know my friend to know its hysterical!).
