Testing for Diabetes

I'm sorry I have no insight about the CF and diabetes combination.

I have my fingers crossed that there is no diabetes - you are right CF and asthma is enough for her to deal with.

I hope she is still getting out of the hospital tomorrow <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> She'll be so excited to be back in her own home with all her own toys ...

Just heard from the doctor and she said that Alysa's levels were higher then they would have liked but they are factoring in the fact that my husband gave her a donut before the blood work was taken (what a goof haha) so they are not necessilary going to go by that and have decided to do an oral glucose test in the first few weeks of August when Alysa goes in for her clinic appt.

oral glucose was how they dxed me with cfrd, the stuff they make you drink isn't that bad, just really sweet, have they done an A1C? that'll tell you what the blood sugars have been doing in the past 3 months, i'm sorry you're having to go through this, as far as things go diabetes is easy to deal with though

So I scoured the internet reading up on CFRD -- worried that he had diabetes as well. I did read somewhere that CFRD usually doesn't show up until children are a little older.

DS glucose was a little higher, too at his last visit. But he'd raided his backpack and downed two packages of fruit snacks and a juice box before we headed down for labs.
